Mary Johnson

I’m from the Detroit area of Michigan and am extremely blessed to have been born and raised in a wonderful Christian family.  I remember making a commitment to Christ when I was in fourth grade in our church school classroom.  For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved God and have had a desire to serve Him.  Of course, just like many others, I’ve had my up and down times as I’ve walked the path of Christianity.  During my college years, while dating my high school sweetheart, Matthew, I told God that I would go wherever He called me, including going into the ministry. Matthew and I married in 2001, and I taught first grade for several years while Matthew was a youth pastor in the Detroit area.  After moving to Lancaster for Matthew to take a position at Lancaster Community Church, I taught in Fairfield County for a year before our first bundle of joy, Cole, was born. Since then our home has been blessed with 3 more wonderful children: Titus, Lincoln and Nora.  I now spend my days being a stay at home mom which includes shuttling to school, driving to practices, always making meals, changing diapers, endless laundry, coloring, playing with Legos, lots of laughs and my favorite, an abundance of hugs and cuddles.  I look back and smile when I think about telling God that I would be willing to go into the ministry because that is right where we are and I couldn’t imagine anything better!  I love being a wife to Matthew, a mom to my kids and sharing God’s love with people.

My Hope For Lancaster Community Church

My hope for Lancaster Community Church is that we can be a community of believers who hear and believe biblical truths and put them into practice in our lives.  And as we get to know God more and see who He really is, that we will be transformed people who are examples of God in our everyday lives.  A place where the love and grace of God causes us to live a life that is worth imitating.
