When he finds it, he will joyfully put it on his shoulders and go home.

Then he will call his friends and neighbors together. He will say, “Be joyful with me. I have found my lost sheep.”

I tell you, it will be the same in heaven. There will be great joy when one sinner turns away from sin.

Yes, there will be more joy than for 99 godly people who do not need to turn away from their sins.

 Luke 15:6-7

As a staff, we listened to this song called “Reckless Love” by Corey Asbury during one of our Monday morning prayer times. I have listened to that song every day since. This song is based on the parable Jesus tells about the shepherd who goes after his one lost sheep and leaves 99 behind. When the shepherd finds the one sheep, he puts it on his shoulder and goes to rejoice with his friends that he found his lost sheep. The same is true with God. He will leave 99 believers behind to find the one lost person. Then He and all of heaven rejoice when ONE person comes back into relationship with Him. (Read Luke 15:1-7.) What amazing LOVE.

On Christmas day, Jesus was born. He brought so much hope and love to many people who were waiting for their SAVIOR, their king to come. We have the same opportunity in our lives. If you haven’t yet chosen God to be your Savior and King, then you need to stop right now and talk to Him. Ask Him to forgive you for all of your sins and be the King of your life! He wants to be in relationship with you, and to put hope, joy, peace, and love into your life. If you are the person who has drifted away from God, and you think He doesn’t want to be in relationship with you anymore, that is a lie from satan. God LOVES you and WANTS to be in a relationship with you. Stop right now, run back to your SAVIOR, and ask Him to forgive you for your sins and to be the King of your life again. If you are just having a bad day, bad week, month, or a year, call out to God. Ask Him to let you feel His love and peace in your life.

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God

Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine

I couldn’t earn it

I don’t deserve it

Still You give yourself away

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God

There’s no shadow You won’t light up

Mountain You won’t climb up

Coming after me

There’s no wall You won’t kick down

No lie You won’t tear down

Coming after me
