A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Proverbs 17:22 ESV

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth break forth into joyous song and sing praises!

Psalm 98:4 ESV

Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

Psalm 51:12 ESV

JOY…does that word make you apprehensive? I know it does me! As Christians, we should be filled with joy, but sometimes our lives aren’t conducive to it. We’re feeling scared about our finances, we have a bad health report or someone we love does, our kids are acting up all the time, we’re lonely, etc. I could go on and on.

In the Bible, there are so many verses about joy…having joy in the Lord, or dancing before the Lord with joy. I know for myself, I have to be purposed to be filled with joy. It’s “easy” to be joyful when life is easy, but not necessarily when life is hard. Is there anyone in your life who drains the joy out of you with their negativity, or are you that person?! Let’s strive to be the person who oozes joy, so others can’t help but be happy when they’re around us. We have been given the greatest gift ever, salvation through Jesus, so let’s show it! Let’s go live our lives today, regardless of bad things that are happening, and show others our joy.

Have a blessed, joyful day!
