Then God’s peace will watch over your hearts and your minds.

He will do this because you belong to Christ Jesus.

God’s peace can never be completely understood.

Philippians 4:7 (NIrV)

Have you ever experienced God’s peace? The peace that is never completely understood? Think about one of those situations in your life when you think to yourself, “I should really be freaking out right now.” God’s peace was in it. I love God’s peace because He comes in the middle of a situation and just calms your heart to gently remind you that He has your situation. It doesn’t mean the situation is taken away…He just calms your spirit.

It is so easy in this Christmas season to feel stress, worry, guilt, and frustration. Money worries, health, marriage issues, waiting on God to answer you on your one desire. All of these things can make this Christmas season feel horrible to go through. God wants you to ask Him to be in the middle of these situations so you can experience His TRUE peace. He wants you to see ALL of the things He has blessed you with, and remind you that He came on this earth to be here with YOU. To die on the cross and take YOUR sins.

God gave my husband and me peace in the middle of waiting for our son. There were still times when I thought He forgot about us, and I would get frustrated. When those times would happen (sometimes every minute of every day), I would ask God to be in the situation, and He would give us HIS undeniable peace. God would give me peace when I needed to encourage my husband, and vice versa. My husband reminded me that God wouldn’t bring us into this journey and just walk away.

What are you going through today? What have you chosen to try to take on yourself that isn’t working? In what area of your life do you need God’s peace? Take a minute today to answer these questions. Then ask God’s peace to come into your day and your week. I promise He will be there.
