This past week I went on vacation with my little family to the beach. It was so beautiful and fun. At the beginning of the week, my toddler had a little problem. He is not a big change guy, so being at a new place to stay and a new environment sets him off. He feels a little out of control in his mind and can go from 0-60 in frustration. Due to all of this, he had a little meltdown. All of a sudden, I felt down and defeated.

I try so hard to be this awesome mom and wife, and in that moment I was done. God reminded me, “I didn’t ask you to parent by yourself.” That hit me hard…I was trying all of this by myself. I would ask God to help me in the middle of my little guy’s meltdowns, not at the beginning of the morning. Don’t get me wrong, God would help me in the moment, but I wanted Him to help me throughout the whole day. I started asking God in the morning to help me be a parent today, and our trip changed and was more peaceful. My little guy still had some little meltdowns but God would help me be calmer in those moments.

You might be in the same spot as me, going through toddler meltdowns and it just seems overwhelming. Remember God didn’t ask you to do it alone. You might be going through something huge or something small. Whatever it is, stop right now and invite God into the situation. Then start every morning with Him. He will help you through every problem. The problem might stay the same, but God will be in the middle of it with you.

Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God.

I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.
