So I want you to realize that the Lord your God is God. He is the faithful God. He keeps his covenant for all time to come. He keeps it with those who love him and obey his commandments. He shows them his love.

Deuteronomy 7:9 (NIrV)

God’s presence is such an amazing thing! Sometimes I think we feel like we have to be a pastor, know our bible more, be more spiritual, or be someone working in the church to experience His presence. But this is not the case. Spending time with God, worshiping Him with song, thanking Him for what He has given to you, and putting Him first are all ways to be in His presence. You learn to count on Him for everything.

I want to talk to God every moment of my every day, and for Him to be my best friend. I want Him to be the person I come to first when I feel like my whole day, week, or month is falling apart. I want God to be so a part of my life that He is all I need. The thing is, I do talk to God and I do TRY to put Him in everything, but I know there are days and weeks that I fail at this simple task. I know I can stop in the midst of the storm that has thrown me off and yell “Help me, Father” and He will be there. Because all of a sudden I will feel peace. There are also storms when I cry out to Jesus every minute of the day and give Him what is going on, but then I take it back and worry about it more. That’s why I need to just stop and give it to Him!

Today, as you look ahead at your day, give God all your worries, fears, and things you dread. If you pick it back up, give it back to Him right away and ask Him to take everything from you. It might still look like chaos in the middle of the storm, but you will be at total peace with the presence of God. You will come to the point that all you want is to be with God and talk to Him! I know that is where I always want to try to be, because He is the only person who can get me through anything!

Then they cried out to the Lord because of their problems. And he brought them out of their troubles. He made the storm as quiet as a whisper. The waves of the ocean calmed down. The people were glad when the ocean became calm. Then he guided them to the harbor they were looking for. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his faithful love. Let them give thanks for the wonderful things he does for people. Let them honor him among his people who gather for worship. Let them praise him in the meeting of the elders.

Psalms 107:28-32 (NIrV)
