Did you set some New Year’s Resolutions? I know I did…some that I am trying again from last year and a few new ones for the upcoming year. As the calendar turns over, it is getting real. All those things I told myself I wanted to do January 1 are now becoming less of a priority. It isn’t because I don’t want them, it is just because it gets tough. I have lost the reason I first made those goals.

I came across this verse and it has inspired me again to regain my momentum.

For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.

Jeremiah 31:25

In the same way, I can feel weary in my walk with Christ and my goals for 2018. God promises to satisfy a tired and weary soul. He promises to restore the languishing soul, and replenish it with a new fire and a new want.

If you are struggling to hold on to those goals you set January 1, hold tight to the promises of God and get back on the horse. Re-light that fire you had in January. Let God restore your desire for your goals. Pray that He will continue to strengthen you when you get tired.
